Ophelia Sarkissan, also known as Viper and Madam Hydra, is the supreme leader of HYDRA. She is responsible for the funding of the creation of X-23.

After sponsoring the creation of a cloned version of Logan Howlett, Ophelia had Deborah Risman create the clones, each failing until the twenty-third creation was successful.
She is the boss of HYDRA's personal, its guards and operatives such as Gauntlet and Omega Red. She does not care for her agents and instead opts to save herself. After having X-23 captured alongside Logan, Ophelia gloated to the former than X-23 would be the loyal operative she was created to be.
After X-23 boarded the craft that Ophelia attempted to use as a way to escape, X-23 rigged it to explode, while she survived, Ophelia's status became unknown.

- In the Marvel Comics, Logan married Viper as part of a debt which was later annulled.
- Madame HYDRA was also a character and villain in the series Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
- This is her first animated appearance, she would later appear in The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes.
- Live action wise, she would then appear in The Wolverine although not referred to as such due to legal issues that were going on with Marvel Studios.
