This is a list of Kurt Wagner's relationships in the show.

Family[]

Parents-Kurts

Mr. and Mrs. Wagner[]

Mr. and Mrs. Wagner are Kurt's adopted parents. They don't appear much in the show but we do know that they found Kurt as a baby floating down the river and, despite his odd appearance, they raised him and loved him as his parents. Kurt deeply cares for them and they care for Kurt as shown by them sending him to the Institute so he could have a chance at a normal and happy life. It's also shown that Kurt visits them during the Christmas holidays.

Mystique[]

Day of Recovery - 40

Mystique is Kurt's biological mother. Kurt and Mystique have a complicated relationship. When he first learned that she was his mother, Kurt was horrified then angry, demanding to know what happened to him, though he never got that answer. Afterwards, Kurt begrudgingly called her mother and that was the last they saw of each other for a while as Mystique was presumed dead after Asteroid M exploded. When they met each other again, Kurt appeared to be indifferent to her though it could've been that he was more concerned about his friends than her. After Mystique kidnapped Rogue, helped reawaken Apocalypse, and was turned to stone Kurt was shown to be extremely desperate to return her to normal and was upset when the Professor sent her statue to the Brotherhood. He wanted her to be restored but he also wanted answers on why Mystique did everything she did, he tried everything he could to help her, even turning to Wanda for help but, in the end, he ended up heartbroken as Rogue pushed her statue off a cliff, destroying it completely. After it was revealed that Mystique was alive and she was freed from Apocalypse, both Kurt and Rogue decided to write her off and told her to stay out of their lives. As the series ended after that, it is unknown if they ever would have reconciled.

Rogue[]

Shadowed Past - rogue n kurt II

Rogue is Kurt's adopted sister and fellow X-Man, though he didn't know this until Rogue herself found out. When they first met, Kurt tried to calm her down and relate to her fear regarding her newly emerged powers. He almost got through to Rogue but Kitty, unfortunately, startled her which resulted in Rogue knocking him out and running away. Even before Rogue joined the team they had small sibling squabbles such as Kurt sticking his tongue out at her when she called him an annoying little brother and fighting over a mysterious device. He, like his allies, warmly accepted Rogue onto the team. Ever since she joined they have had a close, brother-sister relationship. When Kurt wanted to find out more about his past he turned to Rogue and spoke with her about it and, though he got upset with her, he still turned to her for comfort when he learned his mother was Mystique.

Later, after finding out that Mystique adopted Rogue and is his sister, he lightly teased her about it but still tried to take care of her while she recovered. They got into a huge fight regarding Mystique's statue, Kurt wanted to keep it but Rogue wanted it, and Mystique, out of her life. Kurt was heartbroken when she pushed the statue off of the cliff, shattering it, and treated her coldly for several days, though he was saddened when he learned that she might leave the Institute. Later, after learning that Rogue might leave and that she wasn't at school, Kurt was scared that she might've run off and was even more terrified when it looked like Rogue had been kidnapped. After saving her from an alligator attack Kurt and Rogue finally reconciled. After Apocalypse was defeated Kurt cheered for Rogue being the one to deal the finishing blow and walked away with her after they both turned their backs on Mystique for good.

Allies[]

Charles Xavier[]

Charles Xavier is the head of the Institute. Kurt appreciates the Professor giving him the chance to live at the Institute and for giving him the image inducer and so when he messed up their attempt at recruiting Toad, he attempted to leave the Institute in shame though Scott was able to convince him to stay. Kurt usually trusts the Professor though he, like the other students, were upset when they found out that he knew that Mystique was their principal, Miss Darkholme. Kurt generally does not argue with the Professor, even when he disagrees with him, although he was willing to break some rules such as the time he helped his friends host a party at the mansion while the teachers were away. Overall, Kurt has a very healthy respect for the Professor.

Storm[]

Storm is a Professor at the Institute. Kurt and Storm hardly interact over the course of the series but it can be assumed that he has a lot of respect for her and is very grateful to her and Charles for letting him stay at the mansion. Kurt is also very close friends with her nephew. He was also shown doing Danger Room exercises with her as the instructor. Overall, they have a respectful relationship.

Wolverine[]

Operation Rebirth - 31 wolv n kurt

Wolverine aka Logan is a Professor at the Institute. Though Kurt doesn't always interact with Logan, it's shown that they have a very caring relationship. When Kurt saw that Logan was fighting Sabretooth, he insisted on himself and Scott following them in order to help out. Kurt was scared when Logan was brainwashed into attacking himself and Kitty but, later when they got him back to the Institute to get the mind control chip out of his head, it was stated that Kurt and Kitty had checked up on Logan every hour while he was recovering. And lastly, when Kurt was experimenting with his powers and was nervous about continuing when he saw that there were monsters in the dimension he passed through, he was willing to continue when Logan assured him that he'd be there in case anything went wrong.

Cyclops[]

X Impulse - car die

Cyclops aka Scott Summers is a fellow student at the Institute. Kurt has been good friends with Scott since the day he arrived at the Institute. Sometimes they go on solo missions together and joke around while doing so. Kurt sometimes feels as though Scott should lighten up and have some fun while Scott feels as though Kurt should take things more seriously. This has led to arguments in the past but they always manage to make up in the end. Once Jean and Scott began to date, Kurt and Kitty began to tease them over it. In conclusion, Scott and Kurt are good friends.

Jean Grey[]

Jean Grey is a fellow student at the Institute. Kurt and Jean don't have many interactions over the course of the series though it is shown that they're good friends. After they first met and Jean saved him from the Danger Room's defense mechanism he called her an angel. After that they became like brother and sister with Kurt helping to strand Jean and Scott away from the mansion so they could have a party. As with Scott, once her and Scott started dating, Kurt and Kitty took to teasing them over it. Overall, Kurt and Jean are like siblings, teasing each other but still offering support when it's needed.

Shadowcat[]

Grim Reminder - kurt n kitty fog

Shadowcat aka Kitty Pryde is a fellow student at the Institute. Kitty and Kurt have the closest relationship out of all the X-Men. When they first met, Kitty was freaked out by Kurt and Kurt was trying everything he could to win her over. After some initial misgivings, however, the duo became inseparable friends. For his part, Kurt is very supportive of Kitty, keeping the other students out of the kitchen so Kitty could have some privacy after they just got back from a mission. He also teleported her out of danger once she passed out after she attempted to phase a train through another train. Later, even though there was so much evidence to the contrary and Kitty was beginning to look and sound insane, Kurt still agreed to help her investigate the girl from her dreams. Aside from this, they also enjoy teasing Jean and Scott whenever they go on a date or act lovey dovey with each other. In conclusion, Kurt and Kitty have a very close, caring friendship built on a desire to support each other.

Spyke[]

Spyke aka Evan Daniels is a fellow student at the Institute. Despite the relatively sparse number of interactions between them, Evan and Kurt are shown to be good friends with Kurt being immediately on board with his idea of throwing a party at the mansion. When it looked like Evan was going to be kicked out of the Institute, Kurt insisted that they fight to keep him at the school and was hurt when Evan said it wasn't like they were even friends. Overall, though they don't have many interactions, Evan and Kurt appear to be good friends.

Love Interest[]

Amanda Sefton[]

Mainstream - Amanda & Kurt hugging

Amanda Sefton is Kurt's girlfriend. Even before they began dating Kurt had a massive crush on her. When she asked him to prom, Kurt was initially excited but this was soon replaced with anxiety when he realized that she'd be able to feel his fur and would realize that he was wearing a disguise. So, to prevent this, he wore gloves. Things appeared to be going well until monsters from another dimension appeared and attacked them, forcing him to teleport them both away. Afterwards, Kurt reluctantly showed her his true form and, to his surprise, instead of getting scared she stated that blue was her favorite color. They've dated ever since, even after mutants were revealed. In summary Kurt and Amanda have a very healthy relationship that has remained strong no matter the conflict that arises.
