John and Elaine Grey are the parents of Jean and Sara Grey.
History[]
At an unknown point in time, John and Elaine became the parents of Sara Grey who was born as a human. Between 1983-1986, they became the parents of Jean Grey, their second and youngest daughter who was born a mutant to which they were unaware. Some years later when Jean was in her teenage years, John and Elaine met with Charles Xavier at his Institute due to discovering her powers, they allowed Xavier to have Jean as a student before leaving[1]. Sometime after Jean became a member of the X-Men, the two would help their children by picking out a Christmas tree[2]. The two would then attend Jean's graduation ceremony[3].
Personality[]
Although John and Elaine love their daughters, both are equally afraid of Jean's powers as they did not know what to do. John, having already knowing Xavier during his days in college, showed that he was willing to trust the Professor with Elaine believing that the former already knew about Jean being a mutant during their time together having dinner.

- In the comics, John and Jean had five children: Roger, Liam, Jean, Julia, and Sara.
- In the comics, the two are deceased.
- They appeared in The Animated Series and then in a memory in X-Men '97.
- They appeared in X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men: Dark Phoenix.
- In The Last Stand, John referred to his daughter's mutant abilities as an illness, something that angered Erik only for him to be calmed down by Xavier.
