The Morlocks are a group of mutants who live in the sewers of Bayville, New York City. Due to their appearances, they prefer to live out of sight of humans or other mutants who can appear human to avoid further hate. They are led by Callisto.

Personality[]

Each member holds their own personality but commonly show grudges to those living above them, especially normal humans who hate on mutants, due to sharing the same trait of that they feel unwelcomed on the surface, the Morlocks protect each other and are close to one another

Physical appearance[]

All Morlocks appear different and less humanoid with the exception of a few who may appear more human though choose to reside in the sewers just for their own safety.

Early Life[]

The Morlocks consist of mutants who were born deformed to the point they took shelter below the streets of Bayville in the sewers as they did not want to be subject to hate due to their appearances. It is implied that due to Caliban's ability to track other mutants, he was possibly also the one that located the other Morlocks and brought them to safety.

X-Treme Measures[]

After destroying a manufacturing plant containing the Pow-R8 soda drink yet another time, the plant is soon destroyed and the Morlocks retreat to their hiding place underground. Later on, a unidentifiable woman, tells Evan not to drink the Pow-R8 but much to her dismay, he does so anyways causing him to fall ill and be taken away.

After waking up, Evan then questioned is whereabouts but he is only given a vague answer assuring him that he is safe. The woman from earlier makes herself known to Evan once again reminding him that she told him not to have a drink but nonetheless still assures him that he is much safer now in the care of the Morlocks and that it is possible for his symptoms to be ease but that he must rest.

After resting, Evan, unbeknownst to the Morlocks, overheard Callisto, an unidentified Morlock and Caliban talking about him as the "topsiders" would be upset. Lucid then soon came forward and mentioned to his friends that Evan could be useful to them. Eventually, the latter is soon told by the people who rescued him why they despise the Pow-R8 drink and why they sabotaged the plant the way they did with the supply being tainted and the drains becoming clogged.

Upon being targeted by Guy Spear, the Morlocks were able to escape with the only problem being their ally, Torpid, being knocked out by one of the vats which had electrocuted her. The vats eventually began spilling causing the Morlocks to seek shelter but barely manage to make it but are soon saved by the X-Men who attempted to question them about what had just happened but the Morlocks had already escaped.

Now realising his mutation is becoming out of hand, Evan is visited by his aunt who tells her that she can longer help with what he is going through and bids her farewell before leaving with his new allies, the Morlocks.

Uprising[]

Now fully evolved with his new mutant abilities, Evan takes up the mantle of protector of the Morlocks wanting to keep them safe from anti-mutant humans. A role that Callisto did not approve of. However, despite this, Evan continued to keep them safe knowing that there would be more anti-mutants targeting them.

Trivia[]

  • X-Treme Measures is the official introduction of the Morlocks' group as a whole and debut of its villain,Guy Spear. [1]
  • The New Mutants find shelter with The Morlocks, possibly how Callisto knows Berzerker. [2][1]
  • Torpid is one of the only Morlocks that is a child, implying that some of the group's members are orphans or runaway children that either left their homes or were sent away and cast aside due to their mutated appearances.
  • This is their second appearance in an animated series, first appearing in X-Men: The Animated Series. Callisto would make a cameo in X-Men '97.
  • In The Animated Series, Storm, much like Evan, became the group's protector although she denounced her leadership of them and gave the role back to Callisto.
