Mesmero is a mutant who served Apocalypse where he helped free him by placing mutants, specifically a few from the X-Men and Raven, under his control to steal artifacts that were needed to unlock and open the three sealed tomb doors. Once Apocalypse was freed, Mesmero's services were ne longer required and he was thrown aside but soon captured by the X-Men for information.
Powers and Abilities[]
Mesmero is a telepathic mutant which allowed him to put whoever he wanted under his control, his main targets were mutants, mainly the ones he deemed useful enough that could help release Apocalypse.
Early Life[]
Not much is known about his past other than that at some early point in his life, he got a job at a circus using his mind-control to place people under his control to make them do tricks but soon left under the impression that he could do more than circus acts.
Mindbender[]
Mesmero placed Jean, Evan, Kitty and Kurt under his command and ordered them to steal multiple components that were required to build "The Key" which would eventually lead to Apocalypse being freed from his sealed tomb which required three doors to be opened.
Under Lock and Key and Dark Horizon Parts 1 and 2[]
Under Lock and Key: Mesmero placed Gambit under his control and ordered him to steal the next artifact which was held in in Angel's home. Upon being caught by Erik, Mesmero was captured by the latter to be interrogated. When he escaped to London, he was soon founded by Erik who found his ex-ally stealing the artifact himself and Mesmero was soon trapped. After escaping once more, he was soon confronted by Xavier who read his mind where he discovered the stolen artifacts were a key leading to the freedom of Apocalypse.
Dark Horizons 1 and 2: He then placed Rogue under his control and had ordered her to absorb the powers of the X-Men, the Brotherhood and the Acolytes which she successfully completed. Soon after, he was knocked out by Sabretooth after the former had managed to take out Logan. he had also began controlling Raven and used her to unlock the final door with her being turned to stone in the process.
Ascension Part 1[]
He was ambushed and taken back to the Institute where Jean used her telepathic abilities to search Mesmero's mind. When he failed to co-operate, Xavier informed him that he would forcefully search for answers and he would not be as gentle as Jean was going through his thoughts. Where upon doing so, Mesmero's mind showed the Professor what he needed to know and both he and Storm left for Egypt with Mesmero still in custody. It is unknown what his fate is, whether or not he was arrested by S.H.I.E.L.D is also unknown.

- In this universe, Mesmero took on Mr Sinister's role, that being Apocalypse's and helping with his plans

- This is Mesmero's first and only appearance in any X-Men related cartoon, he also appeared in "Ultimate Spider-Man"
