- Jean turning into the Phoenix is a well known comic arc that was first shown in animation during The Animated Series and then again in the original X-Men films trilogy that was concluded in The Last Stand but returned in The Dark Phoenix, the 2019 film that takes place in a second timeline. Evolution is currently the only known X-Men animated series not to feature the Phoenix force although it would have been shown had the series not been cancelled.
- The Dark Phoenix saga lasted in the comics from January up until October of 1980.
