The Four Horsemen of Apocalypse are four powerful mutants chosen by Apocalypse himself to serve him against his enemies. They acted as guardians of the sphinx and three pyramids.

To gain complete control over them, the four were implanted with biochips by Apocalypse that amplified their powers, allowing them to perform on a far greater scale than usual. It was also shown to have enhanced their endurance, having them exerted their powers at their peak without exhaustion while surviving and quickly recovering from extreme damage. They were also gifted with energy horses as a method of transportation that could take them to their assigned and respective pyramids.

The Horsemen[]

Charles Xavier[]

As The Horseman of Death, Charles Xavier's powers were greatly enhanced and through the power of the chips implanted on him, he was able to walk again. During his fight with Jean, Xavier wielded a psionic scythe. Under the control of Apocalypse, Xavier's telepathy rose greatly to the point he was able to create psionic weapons, blasts and an advanced version of astral projection, due to his telekinesis also being upgraded, Xavier was able to generate force fields an was able to fly.

Magneto[]

As the Horseman of War, Erik Lehnsherr's powers were also greatly enhanced due to the chips placed on him. As the Master of Magnetism, Erik's ability to manipulate metal became further advanced allowing him to control electromagnetic forces, force fields, gravitational field and the ability to fly. As he was tasked with stopping the Sentinels in space, Erik ionized the air around him so that he was able to breathe outside of Earth's atmosphere.

Mystique[]

As the Horseman of Pestilence, Raven Darkhölme also fell victim to having her powers greatly enhanced. Due to this, her shapeshifting powers became so advanced she could become several animals, change her limbs into weapons, turn into liquid, heal wounds despite not having a healing factor prior as well as the ability to regrow limbs and morph her body so that any objects thrown at her or any attack on her would simply go through the hole in her body which was non-fatal to her. While under Apocalypse's control, she fully gained the ability to hide her scent which became a problem for Logan whose enhanced senses were unable to locate Raven.

Storm[]

As the Horseman of Famine, Ororo Munroe's powers were also greatly enhanced and she gained advanced control over the ability to manipulate weather, all of which she herself was immune to.

Trivia[]

  • The Four Horsemen of Apocalypse are based off the biblical Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse: Conquest (later known as Pestilence), War, Famine and Death.
  • The implants placed on each member made them slightly resemble Apocalypse.
  • When Apocalypse revealed his horsemen, their clothing was damaged, possibly hinting the chips were forcefully implanted on them and they tried to fight back.
  • This is the second time Raven's powers were enhanced, the first being in The Cauldron - Part 2.
