Dr. Deborah Risman is a geneticist.
X-23[]
Deborah was the geneticist; who had created X-23. She previously worked for the spy organization, HYDRA; because it gave her limitless boundaries to push genetics to the next level. She was commissioned; by them to create the ultimate weapon, based on designs from the Weapon X program. Twenty-two times the process had failed; but then, at some point she had discovered Wolverine's healing factor had been what enabled him to survive the Adamantium bonding process, something that; she used to her advantage where once she applied this to her 23rd experiment, it; resulted in a successful end; with X-23 being created.
At some point, Deborah or HYDRA obtained a sample of Logan's DNA; which she had used; during her work, an hormonal imbalance occurred; which resulted in the clone being a female version of Logan. As time went on, Deborah saw her current experiment as a daughter; instead of an experiment.
Even though Deborah was against HYDRA's philosophy of how they were raising X-23, she remained; within the organisation; until she was able to defect and; made her way to S.H.I.E.L.D, where she confessed that; she had a hand in the project, something that; she was also able to tell Logan himself; with the latter becoming agitated; whenever Deborah mentioned the Weapon X program.
Due to being a traitor, Deborah remained; with S.H.I.E.L.D for safety precautions; since she knew her life would be at risk if she attempted to return to her old job.

Deborah is a woman in her early 30s, she has dirty blonde hair and dark green eyes, her outfit consists of a cream coloured blazer and a red shirt, her trousers are black and her skin is a light tan colour.

- If Deborah's age range of being in her early 30's is correct and the show is set in 2000, she was around 19-20 at least; during the creation of X-01.
- It is possible that; Deborah took up the mantle of continuing the project from another doctor; before her if this fact is true.
- Deborah is caring towards X-23 and appeared to love her as her own daughter.
