I am in favor of tightening this rule even more. I've been an active editor of The Simpsons wiki in two languages and I can tell you that characters' and episodes' pages are 1,000-screenshot dumps and will take many times longer to view than the episode itself. At the same time, screenshots are always low-quality and often duplicated. This is trash. In my opinion, there should be a rule that generally prohibits adding more than 30 screenshots per episode. No one just ever needs more.

I get what you mean and yeah, episode galleries technically don't need too many pictures and yeah there is a problem with people adding photos of scenes that are mere seconds apart, thereby cluttering the page.

My only problem with imposing a limit on how many photos is allowed is that it can come off as too controlling. When making rules for a wiki you want to make sure they're clear and concise but not too rigid or else people will be unwilling to edit.

I agree this problem has always existed. Brutal rules always demotivate people. No one has yet found a compromise. And yet I remain with the fact that cluttering up screenshots should be prohibited. No need to ban for this, but we don’t need garbage dumps.

Yeah, I want to keep things from getting cluttered too. Maybe for now we can keep it as is and try changing it when we have a better solution then just removing it.
